February 22, 2005

Meeting Called to Order at: 7:00pm
Location: Town Hall -2nd floor meeting room

This evening’s agenda was for a review of some department budgets.

FIRE DEPARTMENT
John Durkee presented their budget.  Increase of salaries of $9440.00.  The last increase in salaries that took place was 3-4 years ago.  Details of information available in budget presentation.
Motion to take the Fire Department’s budget under advisement.

ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS (ZBA)
Patty Pitari presented the ZBA budget.  Requested increase in hours from 7.25 to 12 per week.  It used to be 15 hours but have had to cut back in the past couple of years.
Motion to take the ZBA’s budget under advisement

LIBRARY
4% increase in wages across the board.  19% of budget is allocated to material.  6.5% increase in materials.
Motion to take the Library budget under advisement.

Reserve Fund Transfers
Motion to transfer $17K to line item 15112-52000 to cover cost of demolition of 130 North Street.

$17K will be recovered by the lien on the property.

Toni updated us on the balance in the Reserve Fund.  $5550.00

Meetings to be scheduled with more departments on March 10th at 6:30 in 3rd Floor Conference room.  Police, Highway and Schools.

SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE (SBC)
Bill Ford presented an overview of the proposed $150K warrant article.  The 2002 Feasibility Study ($25K warrant article) is completed.  The SBC is to meet with the CIP on Thursday 2/24/04 to discuss warrant article.
Motion to take the SBC proposed warrant article under advisement.
